# ReservationPoints — Authentication & Usage

ReservationPoints issues verifiable travel documents (flight reservations,
hotel bookings, dummy tickets, visa cover letters, travel plans) for visa
applications and proof of onward travel.

## Authentication

The public JSON API does **not** require an API key or OAuth token:

- **Reads** (`GET /api/pricing`, `GET /api/track`) are open.
- **Order creation** (`POST /api/submissions`) is open, but only completes
  once payment is settled. There is no interactive OAuth flow today — see
  https://reservationpoints.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server and
  https://reservationpoints.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource.

## Paying for an order

Orders are paid per-order via **Stripe**. The flow:

1. `GET https://reservationpoints.com/api/pricing` — read the current price for the service.
2. (optional) `POST https://reservationpoints.com/api/coupons/validate` — apply a coupon.
3. `POST https://reservationpoints.com/api/create-payment-intent` — mint a Stripe PaymentIntent
   (the server recomputes the amount). Settle payment in the user's browser
   to obtain a `paymentIntentId`.
4. `POST https://reservationpoints.com/api/submissions` — submit the order with that
   `paymentIntentId`, the `serviceKey`, and the service-specific
   `productData`. The response envelope includes the order id.
5. `GET https://reservationpoints.com/api/track?orderId={id}&email={email}` — poll order status.

A future iteration will add **x402** (HTTP 402 settlement) and **MPP**
(Merchant Payments Protocol) so agents can pay inline without a browser
Stripe session. Until then, use the PaymentIntent flow above.
